ADG is my new dentist! I had been going elsewhere for the past 23 years but had two emergency issues this past year where the previous dental practice I was using let me down in that they were unable/unwilling to see me on an urgent basis, so decided it was time to try somewhere new. ADG got me in same day on a Saturday. Dr. Winchar quickly determined the issue and got to dealing with it. He provided excellent care. He was great at communicating to me what he was doing and what sounds and sensations I would be experiencing, so no surprises. Everyone I've had contact with at ADG has been awesome - very kind, caring, friendly, and capable.

I was sent to this clinic by my regular dentist to have dental implant "pegs" installed in my jaw bone. I saw Dr. Amarjit Rihal for a consultation and later Dr. Reem Atout to have the implants put in. Dr. Atout is very highly skilled and the entire procedure went very smoothly with a very minimal amount of discomfort. In my experience, both of these dental professionals and their assistants were excellent. I would not hesitate to deal with them again. Everyone I have encountered at the clinic was very friendly and professional.

With my experience with Assiniboine Dental Group they took very good care of me! I felt I was in very capable and careful hands and they were very considerate of my well-being during the surgery for my mouth. Everything was handled very professionally and I felt very comfortable with the Doctors and other workers that helped with the process of my mouth. Staff at Assiniboine Dental Group are just fantastic! They are so warm and friendly, from our greeting to our hygienist to our Dentist. Couldn't find a nicer group of people. Can't say I love going to the dentist, but if I must go to keep my teeth and mouth as healthy as I can, then here is the place I want to go. They're the best!!! February 20/24- I had work done on a loose crown today. I was greeted in the waiting room by Dr. Rihal's Assistant, had my work done painlessly & shown out by Dr. Rihal, all in less time than was scheduled for my appointment! We had time to chat & laugh, such a comfortable environment for someone who doesn't like to go to the dentist very much! A great experience! March 26 - My appointment was scheduled for 75 minutes but I got in on time, was completed in approximately 30 minutes, and was home in the time allotted for my entire appointment. The staff is so friendly, personable and kind, they make going to the dentist not so bad! Thanks Dr. Rihal! You're awesome! Good luck with your shot! Slap shot, that is! June 24/24- I had a cleaning and checkup today and as usual, I was treated with respect and my hygienest did a great job, painless and thorough. Dr. Rihal came in to do my check up and found no problems, thank goodness, except that he was cheering for the Oilers in Game 7, which I had a big problem with! I could not agree, but my team won and all is good this morning. I say "my team" but "my team" the Winnipeg Jets weren't in the mix, so my adopted team with our previous coach at the helm, did me proud! Too bad, so sad, Dr Rihal! August 28, 2024- I went in for an assessment as I had lost a piece of a previous repair. It was quickly checked, the plan was discussed with me and I was on my way. In and out within 15 minutes. Couldn't be happier. Thanks Dr Rihal & Assistants. Always so pleasant and friendly. February 5, 2025 - Just a quick appointment for an x-ray & to set a plan for whatever that showed. Plan made for extraction in March. Happy to have no more problems with that tooth. Thank you for always accommodating my need for morning appointments. I appreciate this so much! March 18/25 - My appointment for extraction went quickly and without problems. Was in and out in allotted time and on my way. As always, Dr. Rihal & Barbie worked quickly and efficiently but took time to ensure my comfort. Can't say enough positive things about my Dental team. They're the best! July 23/25- My hygienist was thorough yet friendly & personable. Dr Rihal did my check up & asked re the previous work he had done which has caused no problems or discomfort. July 31/25- A piece broke off a molar leaving a sharp edge which was cutting into the side of my tongue, irritating it severely. I called for an appointment & was able to see Dr Rihal within a week, which I so appreciate because I know how extremely busy he is. He did a repair & sent me off, feeling so much relief from the constant irritation to my tongue. Thank you to Dr Rihal & Eryka! Such a great team! November 14/25 - Needed a repair. It was done quickly & I was on my way. No discomfort. Everyone was so kind & personable. Plan made in the event that the repair doesn't hold.

Assiniboine Dental Group continues to impress me with their level of Service and Professionalism. I am newer patient, and I wish I had gone to them sooner, instead of staying with an inadequate dentist that created more problems.. Dr. Orloff Is now my Dentist. I was so impressed with her level of expertise and ethics that she is now the Dentist for my entire family! PREVIOUS WORK: Dr. Orloff & Dr. Jansen They both fixed a broken tooth for me, on an Emergency basis, and worked very hard to save the tooth. I really appreciated their effort. I found them Knowledgeable, Efficient, and Ethical. It was a great experience! First Appointment with Deanne C She did a meticulous exam which included Periodontal charting, a cancer exam and concise x-rays of my teeth. Very Impressed! Deep Cleaning I had my teeth deep cleaned by Marie-Claude, who diligently worked on my teeth. It was the same type of cleaning the hygienist did at a local Periodontal Clinic that I had been going to, at a more reasonable cost.

My first time there and was received very well. Had to wait a while to get seen but I was seen as soon as they could. Feeling comfortable going there. Back there tomorrow for an extraction and now worried. Outcome will be good I'm sure Day 2 Arrived and was taken in right on schedule. The procedure went very smoothly and painless and the dentist was so intent on my comfort making sure the area was numbed. She actually added more to the area. I'm totally impressed with the care I received My new dentist for sure Thank you so much for today My new dentist is phenomenal and gave me a happy smile yesterday. Dr Amarjit Rihal

General Dentist

Dr. Rihal graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1995 with a DMD degree. Amarjit’s interests in dentistry revolve around technology using digital CAD/CAM systems that we have at ADG.

He was a member of the Manitoba Dental Foundation planning committee and is currently serving as Vice-President. Amarjit served as president of the Manitoba Dental Association (MDA) in 2013 and is the current chair of the IT Committee for the MDA. He is currently the chair of the Commission of Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC) and is an executive board member of the National Dental Examination Board (NDEB).

Amarjit has an interest in education and also serves as a part-time clinical and didactic instructor for the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba. He is also a fellow of the International College of Dentists (ICD), the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the American College of General Dentists.
Dr Dominika Jasiewicz-Bialy

General Dentist

Dr Jasiewicz-Bialy graduated with honours from the University of Manitoba. Together with her husband Peter, Dominika values spending quality time with their young sons, Sebastian and Adam. The family enjoys travelling and discovering diverse cultures.

Dominika was born in Poland and immigrated to Winnipeg at the age of six. As an active member of the Polish community in Winnipeg, she performed at Folklorama in the Warsaw, Poland pavilion as a dancer for more than 14 years. An avid sports fan, Dominika enjoys watching soccer, tennis, and volleyball with family and friends during her spare time
Dr Scott Leckie

General Dentist

Dr. Scott Leckie graduated from the University of Manitoba College of Dentistry in 1990 and immediately began his career at Assiniboine Dental Group. Scott takes a hands-on, patient focussed approach to his practice in general dentistry, which also includes cosmetic dentistry, implants, and crown and bridge. Scott is also a provider for the Invisalign orthodontic program.

Scott married his wife, Tracy, in 1992 and they have three children and two furry children. Scott enjoys sports, travel, and spending time with family and friends. With a strong focus on community involvement, Scott has played roles in a variety of philanthropic and community organizations which touch both his family and professional life.

Scott believes in the value of maintaining a connection to the University of Manitoba and is past president of the University of Manitoba Dental Alumni Association. Scott has always had a passion for sport and has integrated this into his career. Scott is currently the MDA-appointed representative on the Sports Medicine and Science Council of Manitoba, is a former board member of Sport Manitoba, and was the Mayor of the Athletes Village for the 2017 Canada Games hosted in Winnipeg.

On a more personal level, Scott has volunteered for many years at the ALS Society of Manitoba, coached his 3 children in hockey for 15 years, and provides continuing education by teaching CPR. Scott brings the valuable experience and lessons he has gained from his volunteer commitments to his role as a managing partner at Assiniboine Dental Group.

Scott is a fellow in the International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy and a member of the Academy of Sports Dentistry, and board member of the Manitoba Dental Foundation.

Dr Anjali Gandhi

General Dentist

Dr. Gandhi graduated from the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Dentistry in 2005 and is proud to be a part of Assiniboine Dental Group ever since. She is committed to providing quality dental care to all her patients and performs all aspects of general dentistry.

In her spare time, Dr. Gandhi enjoys cooking, travelling and being active. Both she and her husband were both born and raised in Winnipeg and with their daughter, love to explore the outdoors.
Dr Chris Cottick

General Dentist

Dr. Cottick graduated from The University of Manitoba dental faculty in 1990. He completed a one-year internship in the Adult Dental Clinic of the Health Sciences Centre. He is presently section head of Adult Dentistry at HSC and teaching at the school of dentistry.

Chris is married to Marlene, a retired Peri operative nurse, and enjoys the company of his university student daughter Larissa.

He has appeared in 4 of the 5 all dentist musical productions held biannually in Winnipeg, last appearing as Lurch in the production period of The Addams Family in May 2019.

Chris is happy to help ADG with their patients in need of difficult extractions and wisdom teeth.
Dr Huei Cheung

General Dentist

Dr. Huei Cheung graduated from the University of Manitoba College of Dentistry in 2019. While in school, he represented the U of M at the Federation of Canadian Dental Student Associations (FCDSA) before obtaining his DMD degree. Aside from joining Assiniboine Dental Group right after graduation, he also returned to the university as a part-time clinical instructor.

Huei loves all aspects of dentistry and continuously strives to expand his scope. He believes that lifelong education is important for both himself and his ability to provide the best care for his patients.

In his spare time, Huei enjoys playing golf, billiards, and spending time cooking fancy meals. Also, if you’ve ever been to the Korean Pavilion during Folklorama, you might recognize him as he holds a 5th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and has performed there on numerous occasions.

Dr Igor Pesun

Prosthodontist

As a Prosthodontist, Dr. Igor Pesun is a dentist with two additional years of full time advanced specialty training.

If you are missing teeth and your smile, or bite needs improvement, as a Prosthodontic Specialist who is Board Certified in both the United States and Canada, he can provide patients with comprehensive, customized treatment plans, tailored precisely to your unique dental needs. Advanced training provides prosthodontists with skill and expertise to offer procedures and techniques utilizing bridges, crowns, dental implants, complete dentures, partial dentures and veneers. As a prosthodontist he also understands patients' unique needs as a result of facial differences due to such things as cleft palate and traumatic injuries.

Dr Igor Pesun is a faculty member at the University of Manitoba’s College of Dentistry. He is active in dental research and has published and presented to dentists around the world. He enjoys traveling and his summers in the Whiteshell engaging in water sports with his family.

Dr Kayla Trieu

General Dentist

Kayla graduated from the University of Manitoba College of Dentistry. She loves all clinical aspects of dentistry, but feels that the most important part is the patient interaction and ensuring that her patients feel a high level of comfort when coming to the dentist.

In her spare time, Kayla enjoys running, baking, and traveling.
Dr Kelsi Janzen

General Dentist

Dr. Janzen graduated from the University of Manitoba Faculty of Dentistry in 2015 with the University of Manitoba Gold Medal in Dentistry and a number of other academic awards. She is a third-generation dentist at ADG, following in her grandfather Dr. Ted Derrett's and mother Dr. Tana Gilmartin's footsteps. She truly enjoys being a part of the ADG family and caring for the surrounding community.

Dr. Janzen lives in Winnipeg with her husband Davis where they have been renovating their little "fixer-upper". In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and is an avid baker. She loves to read, cross country ski, trying new restaurants, and spending time outdoors.
Dr Mark Dolyniuk

General Dentist

Dr. Dolyniuk graduated with honors from the University of Manitoba faculty of dentistry in 2011. During his time at the faculty, he also completed a research degree in addition to his dental degree.

Dr. Dolyniuk has a special interest in sports dentistry and enjoys being a member of the Manitoba Moose dental team. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and young children.
Dr Rhiannon Orloff

General Dentist

Dr. Orloff graduated with honors from the University of Manitoba Faculty of Dentistry in 2007 and is pleased to have immediately joined the Assiniboine Dental Group family. Prior to entering dentistry, she completed a chemistry degree at the University of Manitoba.

Dr. Orloff is also a part-time clinical instructor at the Red River College Dental Assisting program. She enjoys reading, playing board games and spending time with her family.
Dr Shelley Tottle

General Dentist

Dr. Shelley Tottle graduated from the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Dentistry in 1995, the recipient of the University Gold Medal and numerous other academic awards.

She has spent her career practicing dentistry at Assiniboine Dental Group and enjoys all aspects of dentistry. Dr Tottle is a part time clinical instructor at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Manitoba.

She is the mother of three girls, an avid runner, and in her free time enjoys cooking, cross country skiing and reading novels. She is also a fan of the Winnipeg Jets.
Dr Stephanie Van Den Bosch

General Dentist

Having grown up in the St. James area, Dr. Van Den Bosch has been a patient of ADG since childhood and is now proud to be working alongside such a diverse and talented group of dentists. She obtained her B.Sc. (Hons) in Biochemistry from the University of Winnipeg in 2008 and went on to study dentistry at the University of Manitoba, graduating in 2012.

She enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with a special focus on oral surgery, and is also involved in teaching part-time at the dental college. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, and travelling.

Dr Cole Humphrey

General Dentist

Dr. Cole Humphrey was born and raised in Winnipeg's St. Norbert neighborhood, where he primarily spoke French. He is an avid Winnipeg Jets fan and enjoys fishing on the water with his wife and daughter. Dr. Humphrey attended the University of Manitoba College of Dentistry for dental school and later completed a one-year hospital general practice residency program at the Health Sciences Centre. This residency enhanced his surgical skills in tooth extraction, treatment of severe dental infections, wisdom teeth removal, and dentistry for the immunocompromised and special needs community.

Additionally, it allowed him to become certified in providing conscious intravenous sedation. He also serves as an attending dentist for the hospital residency program at HSC. Dr. Humphrey understands that visiting the dentist, especially for tooth extractions, may not be enjoyable for everyone. Along with his dedicated team of assistants, he takes great pride in delivering optimal care in a comfortable setting.
Dr Brett Starosilec

General Dentist

Dr. Brett Starosilec graduated from the University of Manitoba College of Dentistry and is proud to have joined the team at Assiniboine Dental Group after being a patient here since childhood. Prior to dental school, he completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry, also from the University of Manitoba.

Brett enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is committed to continuous learning to provide the best possible patient-centered care.

In his spare time, Brett enjoys golfing, hockey, playing guitar, and spending time with family.
Dr Allan Cogan

Periodontist

Dr. Cogan obtained his D.M.D from the University of Manitoba in 1990. Following graduation he completed a one year internship with the University of Manitoba receiving additional training in oral surgery and working with medically compromised patients. After the internship, he continued to work for the university by treating patients in many of Winnipeg‘s personal care homes, at a core area dental clinic and by travelling to remote locations in Canada.

Following five years of general practice in Winnipeg, Dr. Cogan returned to school to further his studies at Oregon Health Science University, where he obtained his diploma in Periodontics. Following his graduation in June of 1998, Dr. Cogan returned to his hometown of Winnipeg and began his specialty practice in Periodontics.

Since his return to Winnipeg, Dr. Cogan has been very involved in the dental community. He has been a part time instructor at the University of Manitoba School of Dentistry, he has served on numerous committees of the Manitoba Dental Association, and also served as President of the Manitoba Dental Association from 2011-2012. In 2013 Dr. Cogan was elected a fellow to the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an international honor dental organization.
Dr Nalia Gurgel

General Dentist

Dr. Nalia Gurgel earned her dental degree in 2003, followed by a residency in implantology in 2006 and a master’s degree in prosthodontics in 2010. In 2017, she moved to Ottawa to pursue a PhD in Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa. In 2025, she completed postdoctoral research in Ottawa and joined the University of Manitoba’s Dental School as a professor.

With more than 20 years of clinical experience, Dr. Gurgel practices general dentistry with a focus on implant dentistry and oral surgery. She also provides multiple sedation options for patient comfort. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two teenage sons, and staying active through biking, running, and socializing with friends.
Dr Ashley Mckay

General Dentist

Dr. Ashley McKay earned her dental degree from the University of Manitoba College of Dentistry and is passionate about helping patients achieve and maintain healthy smiles.

Born and raised in Manitoba, Dr. McKay values building lasting relationships with her patients and believes that quality dental care begins with trust, open communication, and a personalized approach. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and is committed to lifelong learning and continuing education to stay current with advancements in the field.

Throughout her training, Dr. McKay was actively involved in volunteer initiatives, including community oral cancer screenings and children’s outreach programs. These experiences further strengthened her commitment to serving others and supporting oral health within her community.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. McKay enjoys cooking, baking, hiking, biking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr Melissa Solomon

General Dentist

Dr. Melissa Solomon was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, before moving to Winnipeg in 2009. She attended the University of Manitoba, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology before completing her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.

Dr. Solomon enjoys the diverse scope of general dentistry and is committed to continuous learning to stay current with advancements in the field. She looks forward to building lasting relationships with her patients while supporting them in achieving and maintaining good oral health.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Solomon enjoys spending time with loved ones, trying new recipes, travelling, and relaxing with a good book.
Dr Gabi Karabin

General Dentist

Dr. Gabi Karabin was born and raised in Winnipeg and is proud to be joining the dental community in her hometown. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba before completing her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at the University of Manitoba College of Dentistry.

Dr. Karabin is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable, heard, and cared for. She values building strong relationships with her patients and believes in providing personalized care with a focus on education, prevention, and long-term oral health. Throughout her training, Dr. Karabin was actively involved in student leadership and volunteer initiatives, reflecting her commitment to teamwork, community involvement, and patient-centred care.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Karabin enjoys travelling, biking, exploring local cafés and restaurants, and spending time with family and friends. She is fluent in both English and Polish.
